When was Swami Prabhupada born?

Swami Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), was born on September 1, 1896, in Calcutta, India. His birth name was Abhay Charan De, and he was the youngest of five children in a devout Vaishnava family.

Growing up, Swami Prabhupada was deeply spiritual and showed a keen interest in Krishna consciousness from a young age. He would often accompany his father on pilgrimages to holy places and would regularly participate in religious ceremonies and festivals.
