Phenomena such as seasons, bodily organs, emotions, social order, and celestial movements are seen as parallel expressions of the same underlying patterns. Changes in one domain are believed to resonate in others, so that the human being becomes a microcosm reflecting the macrocosm. Proper conduct, health, and governance are therefore framed as matters of alignment with these larger cosmological relationships, rather than merely individual choices.

Underlying this entire perspective is the sense that reality is a single, patterned field of interaction. Through the interplay of yin and yang and the cyclical movement of the Five Phases, the School of Yin-Yang presents a world in which separation is ultimately illusory and relationship is primary. Interconnectedness here is both structural and temporal: things are linked not only across different realms of existence, but also through the cycles and transformations that bind past, present, and future into a coherent whole.
