Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche, also known as Khyentse Norbu, is a renowned Buddhist teacher and filmmaker. He was born in Bhutan in 1961, and is recognized as the third incarnation of the Dzongsar Khyentse lineage, which is known for its profound teachings and spiritual guidance.

Rinpoche's journey to becoming a Buddhist teacher began at a young age. His father, Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, was a highly respected Buddhist master and his mother, Khandro Tsering Chödrön, was also a spiritual practitioner. At the age of seven, Rinpoche was recognized as the reincarnation of the previous Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. This recognition marked the beginning of Rinpoche's formal training in Buddhism.

Rinpoche received his primary education from his father and other prominent masters, including Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and Dudjom Rinpoche. He studied various Buddhist scriptures, philosophy, and meditation practices, and also received teachings from other spiritual traditions.

At the age of 20, Rinpoche traveled to India to study at the prestigious Buddhist institute, Nalanda Monastery. He spent the next seven years studying Buddhist philosophy and scriptures under the guidance of renowned masters such as Khenpo Appey Rinpoche and Khenpo Namdrol Rinpoche.

After completing his studies, Rinpoche returned to Bhutan and began teaching at various monasteries and centers. He also traveled extensively, giving teachings and empowerments to students around the world. Rinpoche's teachings are known for their depth, clarity, and practicality, and he has a unique ability to make complex Buddhist concepts accessible to modern audiences.

In addition to his role as a teacher, Rinpoche is also a filmmaker and has directed and produced several critically acclaimed films, including "The Cup" and "Travellers and Magicians". These films have been praised for their spiritual themes and have been screened at various international film festivals.
